The range covers rail-mounted portal slewing cranes, fixed and floating cranes, ship-to-shore and yard container gantries, railway freight yard gantries and shipbuilding gantries, for container terminals, bulk and general cargo berths, shipyards and inland terminals.
WUXIN is Hunan China Railway WUXIN Heavy Industry, a port and lifting machinery manufacturer whose cranes are in service at container and bulk terminals across China. It holds A-level design qualification and National High-Tech Enterprise status, has been granted over 290 patents, and helps draft China’s national standards for hoisting machinery. Its published quality checks include phased-array non-destructive testing, torque, hardness, air tightness, paint adhesion and film thickness.

| Handling | Where | Crane |
|---|---|---|
| Mixed cargo — bulk, break-bulk, general, containers | General or bulk berth, on rail | Portal slewing |
| Mixed cargo | Fixed berth, no gantry travel | Fixed |
| Mixed cargo | No wharf — tidal, midstream or dockless | Floating |
| Containers | At the vessel, quayside | Ship-to-shore (STS) |
| Containers | In the stacking yard | RMG or ARMG |
| Containers | Train, truck and stack, inland | Railway freight yard gantry |
| Hull blocks and sections | Building dock | Shipbuilding gantry |
Slewing cranes rotate a jib and change attachment, so one machine covers mixed cargo. Gantries run a trolley along a fixed beam and are built around one job.
Full 360° slewing over a luffing jib, with quick-change attachments covering bulk, break-bulk, general cargo and containers on the same machine. Three mountings: a travelling portal that clears rail and road traffic underneath, a fixed pedestal at the berth, or a vessel.

The published parameter envelope is the same across all three. The mechanism is not. WUXIN publishes the single-jib as the lighter machine — lower deadweight, lower energy consumption, lower maintenance cost. The four-link is published for precision and stability under continuous heavy duty, with high-precision luffing and horizontal movement. The grab bucket drops the container spreader rating and runs faster hoisting and luffing.
Standard portal slewing configurations are published as MQ16t–25m, MQ25t–30m, MQ45t–35m and MQ45t–47m. WUXIN states that rated capacity is maintained across the full working radius, including at maximum luffing range.
Grab bucket cranes are published at 500–1,500 t/h, with 1,500 t/h as the maximum. Dust suppression runs to environmental standards, and the portal is high enough to clear vehicles underneath — so grab, hopper, conveyor and truck work as one chain rather than as separate moves.

Neither travels on a gantry. Fixed cranes sit on a pedestal at the berth, a smaller footprint where quay length is tight, published for repetitive fixed-position duty with simplified mechanisms and added stability for high-wind working. Floating cranes are mounted on a vessel and work where there is no wharf, or where tide and hydrology rule out a fixed berth. Fixed heights are measured from the wharf deck; floating heights from the vessel deck.
Ship-to-shore cranes work the vessel at the quay; rail-mounted gantries work the stack behind it. Both run on rail with a trolley along a fixed beam, and both are sized around the block they serve.

Door frame width is quoted for 45ft containers. WUXIN states the STS range meets Panamax vessel handling requirements, can be configured with single or twin-lift spreaders, and is built to GB, FEM, DIN, IEC and AWS standards.
Published cargo handling efficiency is 25–45 natural containers per hour, against a theoretical figure of 60. Electronic anti-sway limits spreader swing and auto-positioning places the spreader over the cell. The luffing front boom lifts clear for berthing and for the crane working alongside. Automated operation supports remote control or unmanned running, and the supply takes either 380V or 10kV so the crane suits the grid already on the wharf.

ARMG is the automated variant, and its published range of gauges and cantilevers is narrower than RMG’s. ARMG trolley and gantry speeds are published as a single figure for full and empty load. Both handle general and bulk cargo by changing the spreader.
WUXIN publishes an operational efficiency increase of over 30% for ARMG, with one operator monitoring several units and the operator out of the cab. Electronic geofencing, truck-lift prevention, cab impact protection and a real-time anti-sway system are listed on the automated variant. RMG is fully electric drive, with energy recovery and feedback, selectable power supply, intelligent lubrication and a modular build that shortens on-site installation. Both comply with GB, FEM, DIN, IEC and AWS.
Two gantries built for different loads. Railway freight yard cranes transfer containers between train, truck and stack. Shipbuilding gantries lift hull blocks in the building dock, with two trolleys working together for turn-over and combined lifts.

Modular design, with an adjustable truck lane and 90° steering so the crane can be moved between sites. WUXIN also lists subway construction as a working site, with muck lifting and dumping as the main duty. Door frame width is quoted for 45ft containers.

Two trolleys share the same span. The upper pair lift under hook in tandem; the lower trolley carries a main and an auxiliary hoist. Combined lifts and segment turn-over are rated separately from either trolley working alone, so the figure that matters depends on how the block is rigged.
